Marcello Bianchi is the Chairman of the OECD Corporate Governance Committee since 2007. He has been a member of the Committee since its establishment in 1997, participating to the elaboration of the OECD Principles of Corporate Governance and to their revision in 2004.
Director of Corporate Governance Division at the Consob where he has been working since 1990. The Corporate Governance Division is in charge of regulation and supervision of corporate governance of listed companies (including take-over, major shareholdings disclosure, auditing, related parties transactions, and shareholder rights protection). He has been involved in research activities on several aspects of corporate governance, including ownership structure of Italian listed companies, the role of coalitions, reciprocal shareholdings, take-over regulation, the role of institutional investors in corporate governance, bank-firm relationships, board structure and nomination procedures, executives’ remuneration, related party transactions.
