Cüneyt Yüksel got his law degree from Istanbul University Law Faculty (1991). He took his second M.A degree and his PhD in law at Harvard University Graduate School of Law. He continued his research and gave several courses at Harvard. He was awarded the Harvard University Graduates Special Award which only two students are nominated to take each year; and a special award of academic excellence by Stanford University, which is granted to only 10 students each year in law field.
He worked in Washington DC as an international lawyer for many years. He proceeded as the Chief Legal Officer at Sabancı Holding in Turkey. He started an assistant professor of law in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Boğaziçi University. At the same time, he lectured classes at the Law Faculty of Bilgi University. Mr. Yüksel was present as a guest lecturer at Maryland University (USA).
In June 2007, Associate Professor Cüneyt Yüksel became a member of the Turkish parliament from Mardin for Justice and Development Party (AKP). Within the parliament, he acted as a member of E.U harmonization committee, Turkish-E.U. Hybrid Parliament, and Judiciary Commission as well as the president of E-State Commission. In 2008 and 2010 he was elected as the congressman of the year. He was the member of AKP Central Discipline Committee, Foreign Relations Advisory Committee, AKP Library Advisory. He lectured in AKP Political Academy. He was assigned as AKP Head office Political and Judiciary Vice Presidency.
He wrote many books in the fields of law, economics and international Relations; “Embedded Strategies”, “Ethics in Government”, “Ethics in Politics”. His recent book is “Turkey’s Global Political Vision”. Cüneyt Yüksel is also a member of the board of trustees in İstanbul Kültür University. He was elected as the President of Harvard University Alumni Associations in both Turkey and Europe. Mr. Yüksel can speak Turkish, English, French and Arabic.
